About this game

Split Glance is a divided-attention game. A card flashes briefly with an arrow in the middle and a marker in one corner. Then it is covered, and you say which way the arrow pointed and which corner had the marker.

It is based on divided-attention tasks, where you must take in information from the centre and the edges of your vision at once. The flash gets shorter as you improve, so you have to take in the scene quickly.

How to play

Look at the card as it flashes. The middle arrow and one corner matter.
When it is covered, tap the direction of the arrow.
Then tap the corner that had two bars.

Tips

Name the direction and the corner to yourself right away, before they are gone.
Keep your eyes on the centre and let the corners come to you.
If you miss one, focus on getting the other right rather than guessing both.

How it adapts

Kids get a longer flash. Teens and adults get a shorter flash at higher levels. The flash time adjusts to how you play.

A short flash means you have to notice things quickly and accurately instead of studying them.

Do I need to look at the corners?

You only need to notice them. Looking straight at the centre while noticing the edge works best.
