About this game
Echo Mark is a recognition game. Marks appear one at a time, and for each you tap Already here if it appeared earlier in the set, or First time if it is new. Lookalike marks make it tricky.
It is based on continuous recognition tasks, where you keep track of what you have already seen in a running stream. This uses your ability to tell 'seen before' from 'new', an important part of everyday memory.
How to play
- Look at each mark as it appears.
- Tap Already here if you have seen that exact mark in this set.
- Tap First time if the mark is new. Watch out for lookalikes.
Tips
- Notice one detail on each new mark, like the line pattern or the border.
- Be careful with marks that are almost the same. The details decide it.
- If you're unsure, trust your first impression rather than overthinking it.
How it adapts
Kids get shorter sets and marks that look less alike. Teens and adults get longer runs and closer lookalikes. The difficulty adjusts to how you play.
Questions
What counts as a repeat?
Only the exact same mark. A mark that is similar but different is a new mark.
Why does the number of repeats change?
So you can't simply count. Each round has a different mix, and you have to actually remember.
Is guessing worth it?
Wrong answers cost you, so it is better to use what you remember than to guess at random.
